Common core of skills of knowledge for Ofsted RegistrationStudy for the Common Core of Skills and Knowledge for Ofsted Registration in North London or online

The Common Core Of Skills and Knowledge for Ofsted registration is a set of principles and values. It sets out what basic skills and knowledge are needed by people whose work brings them into regular contact with children, young people and families. This includes, nannies, Au Pairs, Maternity nurses, teachers, doulas and volunteers. The one day work shop is run by trainers that are registered with OFSTED.

To register on the voluntary part of the OFSTED Childcare Register, child - carers must have had training in the Common core  of skills and knowledge and attend a 12 Hour First Aid For Babies/Children (Ofsted).

The Common Core Skills and Knowledge Development Programme is based on the Children’s Workforce Development Council’s philosophy. The skills and knowledge are described under six main headings:
    • Effective communication and engagement with children, young people  and families
    • Child and young person development
    • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the child
    • Supporting transitions
    • Multi-agency working
    • Sharing information
